Latest Beauty Splurge

Every so often I like to go on a little spree. These next few items I have collected over the last couple of months. I wish I was able to afford to go on splurges each week, but being a student, my budget just does not budge! 

 

As the autumn/winter draws closer, I realised I needed to pay more attention to the dullness in my skin. I love the whole dewy look and after having seen a few good reviews I decided to purchase the Smashbox Photo Finish Luminizing Primer. I love it! Under my NARS SheerGlow I get the dewy look I long for and love! I prefer a more heavy coverage for my foundation and like it to look flawless. What better product than NARS!

Looking ahead to the autumn seasons I am excited to start wearing the deeper colours! This Revlon Nail Polish in Fashionista is my go to nail varnish this season! 

Inspired by the likes of Lana Del Ray I just had to dive in and invest in Matte Diva by Mac for the perfect berry lip.

I use to be such an avid eyelash wearer, but during the summer, I just can't do it. And I started to prefer the more natural look, so bye bye lashes. However, these will be perfect to make my eyes pop whilst wearing my new favourite lipstick in the winter months. 

And a concealer brush, just cause! We all need one.

Clinque Dramatically Different Lotion +

I have been after this little thing for soo long. And it doesn't disappoint. 

I'm a bit naughty and don't generally have a great skincare routine. I mean, I exfoliate everytime I am in the shower, but in terms of cleansing and toning, I can be pretty slack. I pretty much, always, take my make up at night with Garnier Simply Essentials Soothing 2 in 1 Make-up Remover. And moisturise. Now with this little beauty.

I have the lotion as I have combination skin. It is quite thick and feels so hydrating on my skin. I feel this is a little too thick for the morning as I have to leave it a few minutes to sink into my skin but as a night moisturise, it leaves my skin feeling heavenly. Especially the next day.

OOTD

This week I went out and brought myself a new outfit :)

Perfect for the autumn/winter time I believe.

I'm not usually one for shopping in Urban Outfitters as I don't think their shapes really suit me. I.e. the floaty dresses and cropped tops, over sized t-shirts etc. I think they very much cater for the boyish/very slim figured ladies. Unfortunately/fortunately I'm more of a curvy girl and being petite, I find it very hard to find things that suite my proportions. 

 

But, alas, after a recent trip I found this beaaaut dungaree set. It's in the dogtooth style material that I LOVE! I do think it is a pattern that you have to be careful with as it can look too formal. Styled with these beautiful boots I suddenly feel a little bit cool? 

I spotted these in New Look and HAD to have them. So I did :) and they're actually pretty comfy. Perfect for the season ahead also.

Zante

Now I never thought I would ever go on a 'clubbing' holiday. But persuaded by the girls, I went on what is now one of the best weeks of my life. 

I laid by the pool/sea, drank copious amounts of alcohol, lost my voice, got a bit of a tan, met some cool people, became a converse wanker, and thoroughly enjoyed being with the girls 24/7. When can we all move in together? 

We booked this with 6 weeks to go and got the deal relatively cheap online! Good old Thompson. Our hotel was a ten minute walk from the main strip, which was nothing but a god send. I would hate to have to listen to everyone stumbling out of the clubs at 6am and have no sleep. Enter bitch mode. If you are about to go on your first clubbing holiday, I would definitely recommend Zante. It's so cheap and it's just a tad tamer compared to such places like Magaluf and Ibiza (for those who arn't massive party goers and need to broken into gently, like moi). The nearest beach isn't great, but take a little bus ride and you can find much nicer, cleaner kept beaches.

 

I'm unsure whether I would do another full on clubbing holiday, but I will definitely be booking another holiday with these girls for next year.

Revlon Review

In my previous post I wrote about how I looove autumn/winter and all the deep colours. I would like to present to you my new Revlon nail polish purchase. 

I've never really been one to go crazy on nails, working in Hospitality, I rarely get a chance to splurge and treat my nails. I have had a few weeks off lately so I have treated myself. I got gel nails which I have become addicted to having! I feel so girly when I have them done and feel they complete an outfit. 

In this picture I don't have them on as I am just about to start work again so have just painted them... With the new 'Fashionista' colour from Revlon. The perfect colour for the coming season, don't you think?

The thing I love about Revlon nail polishes are that you very rarely need to double coat. As you can see on my nails in the picture, one colour was enough to give a good coverage, wasting less! I will definitely purchasing more of these.

September

So September brings the start of Autumn/Winter. MY FAVOURITE SEASON/S. Think leather jackets, scarves, boots, layers, deep colours. I can't think of anything better. Literally. 

This September I start my final year at Uni. I can not believe how quick it has gone. When I first started I thought 3 years would drag and I would have plenty of time to figure everything out. That hasn't happened. I have 6-8 months to put everything in place for travelling, a new job, somewhere to live, save a little. But I'm positive :D and kind of looking forward to the challenging year ahead.

I can't wait for the dark nights to draw in so I can chill with cups of tea, blankets, 'snuggles', X Factor (yes, X Factor!!) my birthday and most importantly Halloween, Bonfire Night, Christmas and New Year's Eve.

Bucket List

So I was asked a very good question by Megan Grundy of Baroqueetalroll, What is on my Bucket List? This is basically a list, however long or short, of the things you most want to do before you die. So this got me thinking hard. I don't quite know how many are going to be on this list, so this could be quite a long list, or a very short one. Mainly due for lack of thinking and imagination on the spot, so this may be something I come back to time to time.

But I definitely know where I want to start. I want to travel, and see all the things my mum and dad have not had the fortune of seeing. Seeing them two miss out on the beautiful sights the world has, has made me realise I need to live life to the full potential. See and hear and smell things others can't/won't ever get to.

Here are a few of the places I need to visit in my lifetime. 
The Northern Lights
The Grand Canyon,
The Great Coral Reef
Jungles and Beaches of Thailand
Route 66
Niagara Falls
Hot springs of Iceland

And here are a few of the things I want to do.
See a Broadway show in New York
Climb Kilimanjaro
Have a bonfire with guitar singing in the outback or on a beach
Meet Beyonce. (fat chance)
A safari trip
Learn a new language (preferably spanish)
Buy a few properties. 1 in London, 1 in the countryside and another somewhere abroad
Have a successful B&B by the sea/lake/river
Have a long and happy marriage with 2 children
Take a make up course and become a make up artist.

This is all I can think of for now. I'm going to come back and change this once I have given a little thought and make it into a 101 things to do before I die...

1. What's the story behind starting your blog? 
I really enjoyed reading other people's blogs and always wanted to put my own opinions to other make up junkies and thought what better way! Although my blog has varied blog posts, I aim to make this a more make up review/opinion based blog. 


2. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Oh my days, I have no idea. Somewhere near the sea but with my family around? Even just a nice little place in Surrey... I quite like England. I'd like to live in a few different places in my time. So wherever life takes me I guess?

3. Would you rather have 2 left feet or 2 left hands?
Errr, hard question! I'd say two left feet! I need my hands to type and to eat and to write and to apply make up!!!!! But then I guess my shoes wouldn't look good with two left feet. Ahhh good question Meg!

4. Favourite make up brand?
Ooo this is a toughy! I love Nars for their foundations but you can't beat Mac for their lipsticks and overall quality of their products. Soooo, gonna go with Mac.

5. Are you a leather jacket or a denim jacket person?
I would say I am a leather jacket kind of girl. I literally wear mine the whole of the autumn/winter/spring seasons. Toughens up any girly look. I have a denim jacket but only wear it on rare occasions in the summer.

6. If you had to buy all your clothes from one store for the rest of your life, which would you choose?
I think Topshop. They have something for everyone, even little old petite me. And they have the boutique shops that sell something for everyone's style.

7. Where do you see yourself in 5 years time?
Hopefully still living in London, with an alright paid job in Events, nice car, on my way to paying for a house perhaps. That's the aim anyway...

8. Books or films? 
I love films but nothing quite beats a good book. Like The Hunger Games, the films good, but it misses out all of Katniss' inner thoughts on the two boys and how she makes her decisions. So for me it's going to have to be books. But I have to reeeally get into it.

9. Favourite type of blog posts?
For sure my favourite types of blogs are the make up reviews. I love hearing about new products and how they work on different peoples skin etc. I like the out of the day ones also as I like to see peoples personal style and how they pair clothes together.


10. If you was stranded on a desert island with one item, what would it be?
Mascara. If it was to be make up. Moisturising cream if it was skin care or a phone? To help me get off


11. Do you have a bucket list? If so, I'd like to see a post about it, if not, you should consider making one.

Body by vi

Now, I'm an absolute sucker for these miracle diet wonders and have been well and truly sucked in by the latest craze to hit the Uk, BodyByVi. I'm not really sure who Vi are, but lets roll with it.

When I purchased this I had two weeks til I hit the beaches of Zante and wanted a quick fix,  as usual I left everything, even down to my fitness, until the last minute. With two weeks to go I took to BodyByVi.

The idea is you have 2 shakes a day in replace of two normal meals.

 

My usual 'routine' would be to have 1 shake in the morning, 1 shake for lunch and a normal healthy dinner. You can mix it up and do it to suit you!

Have you tried BodyByvi? Or any other health craze? If not, which ones would you like to try?

Outfit of the Day

So the weather has decided to turn a little cold against us today. Amazing how you can feel the cold so easily after a few days of ridiculously hot weather, don't you think? It's only a little breeze too..

And sadly that affected my outfit choice. No skirts/shorts/playsuits for me today. Nope. My trusty leggings and light jumper...

These leggings are amazingly comfortable and are a recent purchase. Naughty naughty. And this jumper is a god send on days like today where you don't need a thick jumper, but definitely something to keep you covered from 'the chill'. Little bit summery? Coral? Latest Clothes Haul - H&M

If any of you are dedicated online shoppers like myself, then I'm sure you will have seen the recent sales that are literally, EVERYWHERE! Knowing this I took my little self of to the H&M website and had a peruse. Now I love H&M but when there is a sale on, it is literally like Primark, having to literally raid every rail and find nothing. Online however, is a whole different ball game. There is SOOO MUCH choice. And the bargains are so ridiculous I had to hold myself back far too many times! However, I did make these few purchases. (Please note, I AM STILL WAITING FOR THESE ITEMS 10 DAYS LATER H&M!!!!!) So I will let you know how they fit/have an outfit of the day post when I finally get them. Growl.

In all honesty, I have not been that wowed by the service of H&M. However easy the process is, the delivery is shocking. It took them 4 days to process my order and I'm still waiting 6 days later for my items. I just want to wear them already. Two items that I also ordered with them are not arriving til August. Now its good that they have it on record that I want them and that they're going to send them to me. But it's a bit of a joke to be waiting a whole 6 weeks or so until I can get them. Just say they're out of stock H&M!!! Don't get my hopes up just to see them get dashed at the delivery date. 

I can't wait to get my package but if you are in need of an outfit for the weekend, I would reccommend going instore rather than ordering online. Soooo long!!

Fitness - Jodie Marsh SEMTEX

Okay, so I'm not the slimmest of girls, I do need/want to loose around 1 and a half stone (that's just for my own personal goal). So, I took up jogging. I know, of all people, me! I can not run to save my life so I had no idea what I was thinking when I went out and purchased my 'running gear'. I thought, if I brought these clothes, my motivation and determination would increase. You know, right tools for the job kinda thing. This lasted all of two sessions. I am currently getting ready to go for my third jog. And what am I doing? Writing my blog. All to stop myself from going. But! Fear not. I will get my sorry ass out the door. As they say, the only session you regret is the one you didn't do! I'm such a physicist. Not sure if that's the right word at all. 

I have taken to running in Gunnersbury Park which is directly opposite my house (Hooow convenient, I don't have to trek round half of London to get to my nearest gym now :) It's a bit windy today so it doesn't look too great....

And this is me after my jog.

 

If I'm to go on holiday with 4 STICK THIN girls, then my motivation must increase (love food far too much though). Also... how about this for motivation...

I am a power machine. These give me so much energy it's actually ridiculous. Still doesn't mean I can run round the whole park without stopping though :(. I had seen these soooo many times on Twitter with success stories. These are called SEMTEX. They claim to;

I have taken these before and saw a good result, but I got lazy again, and with the love of food, put back on weight (due to not exercising).  So, I'm back on them a determined to have a beach body for my holiday! ....Best get running...

OMG!!! I did not expect that for a second, and my face doesn't even look like a supermodel. Massive disappointment. However, I love the products I use and they do last a long time soooo?! Can't really complain... can I? .... can I? :/

Before I saw this last night I was trawling through other people's blogs and realised many a bloggers hold make up sales of the products they have reviewed. So these products will have literally only been used once or twice or even just swatched and get sold at a such a bargain price! Definitely one to look into next time I need some more make up - aaaaaaaah.

Buy of the Week

This year, I have come to realise, that eBay is a magical, yet dangerous place to venture. I have brought many a bargains from here this year and here is my latest...

Brand new River Island shoes, HALF THE PRICE! (were £65) Now, I've seen these a few times in River Island and have been anchoring to buy some shoes in this style for soooo long now. And eBay done me good!

I can see me pairing these with a pair of jeans and a blazer, some peg leg trousers and beaut accessories, or even with a pretty dress to roughen the look up a bit. (I'm not all that girly) No doubt a lot of wear will come from these through the summer and autumn to come. What bargain have you picked up recently? Let me know!

Another little beauty is from Claires. I often underestimate Claires and regularly forget the fact that they sell accessories. And nice ones at that too! I popped in their whilst I was home this weekend and picked up this chunky chain necklace for a bargain (love this word) £7!! In places like Topshop and River Island etc, you are paying double the price, if not more. You do have to be careful what you pair it with though otherwise this could look more 1980's hip hop rather than classy, sophisticated (sort of) look that I want to try and pull off.

Latest Beauty Haul

So, I'm ridiculous when it comes to make up. I can't go into a store and just buy 1 item. So here's a little collection of the items I have brought in the past month or so :) - this is a little lengthy as I've reviewed some of the products, so sit back and enjoy!

 Some of these are the best products I've ever brought. Others, not so. I have always been a bit of a Mac foundation whore, but last month I decided enough was enough, I needed to experiment with others. I sit for hours and watch make-up tutorials on YouTube and so many YouTubers rave about NARS Sheer Glow so this was my next purchase. The service is brilliant and they help you choose the perfect shade for your colour. I'm pretty pale but there was three different shades of paleness for me to choose from to suit the tone of my skin. Amazing. I find Mac either too yellowy or too pale. I was determined to finish the bottle of Mac I still had, but I could not resist. I think I've used the Mac once since I've had NARS. Naughty naughty.

Pacco Rabanne Black XS. My all time favourite perfume! I normally don't get big bottles because I find them ridiculously expensive. But, duty free! The 80ml bottle for something like £39.99. What a barjaaainnnn. (Yes, that is suppose to be said with a J). I wear it everyday and it lasts all day. It's quite a strong deep smell but that's what I love. Love a bit of musk!

Maybelline The Mega Plush Volum' Express Mascara (the greeny/blue one). I was a little sceptical about this at first as it's supposedly made from gel?! Personally couldn't tell the difference, but I do love it. Goes on nice, doesn't flake, strong black colour and actually does what it says, gives me long, voluminous lashes. The only downfall I have with this is the brush. I feel its a bit flimsy so doesn't let me get quite as close to the lash line as I'd like.

 These little selection of goodies are some of my favourite products. I have recently just started using gel eye-liner (I know, where the hell have I been?!) I bloody love it! I sometimes find liquid eyeliners get sticky and make my eyes sore. I also find that one side of my eye will go a nice matt finish where as the other side looks like I have a piece of plastic layered over it?!  No idea what that's about. Either way, Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner 24H (which is true, I slept in it last night :/) You are like a little piece of heaven to my eyes! Easy to apply, lasts all day but comes of easily, smudges easily to create the smokey eye and more importantly, there's loads of it which means I won't have to buy any for aaages!

The Sleek Luminous Powder with an SPF of 15 is a little delight. Gives my make-up a nice 'luminous' finish and is an absolute bargain at £6.99. (In general, I find sleeks range pretty decent and good value for money! You can buy it in SuperDrug or online.) I don't think it lasts all day, but it doesn't state that it does, so you do have to reapply a couple of times throughout the day. But I don't mind :)

All the other products are of decent quality also, and all relatively cheap. The white compact is a gold highlighter (Sunbeam) from Topshop, the item below that is a little highlighter from Along Came Betty (starlight shine) from Tesco, the cream coloured paint pot is a cream eyeshadow from MAC (Bare study). An everyday item that I love, as a base or on it's own and lastly the peach coloured Revlon Photoready cream blush (pinched 100), a little difficult to apply but has a nice finish.

Barcelona

Last month, me and my favourite, Sian, took a little trip to sunny Barcelona. We both needed some sunshine, relaxation and exploring in our life and booked and went within 3 weeks. A little spontaneous by my own standards. The flights were £40 return, how could I refuse?! Granted it was RyanAir, my first flight with them, but we had no problems!

I tried to brush up on some spanish before I went, thought I nailed the question 'Where is the toilet?' 'Um bosco el aseo?'. Turns out this is definitely not what I thought :(. Something about the jungle?! Anyone care to tell me what I was asking, please feel free.

We spent our holiday soaking up the sun, walking... a lot, eating, drinking, partying, a wee bit of shopping and exploring the beautiful works of Ghandi.

Here are some beauty snaps of the City and various other momentums.

Although the food and drink were quite pricey, it could be expected in a big city. I couldn't recommend Barcelona enough, a beautiful city, beautiful food, beautiful buildings, beautiful beach and THE best shopping city I have been to in a while. So much so, we're booking again to go next year especially for that reason! You can't stop a girl doing what she loves best - shopping :).

I don't know if anyone has heard of these, most likely you have, but a friend told me about these a few months back. Basically, you pay once a month £10 and you receive a box full of beauty goodies, usually 5 or 6 products. This can be anything from skincare, to make-up, nails to hair care. I have fallen in love. You get to try samples/sometimes full size products that you may never usually buy/never heard of. So far I have pretty much loved every box I have got, minus a couple of shoddy products. This has not swayed me yet though. I have seen a few bloggers be disappointed with past boxes and I'm not really sure how you can be?! You always receive products over the value of what you pay for the whole box. Yes, okay, cause you don't like/aren't going to use that item. But isn't that the whole point of GLOSSYBOX? To try new products?! 

The boxes are cute little designs and there is a limited edition one every now again, the one in the picture below is a Daisy Lowe edition which is beaut and come with some great products. These have become quite handy storing some of my make-up... 

Unfortunately, mine have got a little scruffy :(

 I might do a little review on some of these products soon :) 

Surprisingly, I have been finding myself loving the skincare products, a little unusual as I'm a sucker for make up. But, I literally use the skincare stuff everyday. Prim and proper for my interview

My first post was just a little introduction, I thought you should now get to know a little bit more about yours sincerely :). Here's 10 facts you should/might want to know;

   

1. I'm only 5.05ft :( - not even 5ft 1
2. I look about 15 but I'm really 21. 
3. I own farrrrrr too much make-up - bit of an addiction.
4. I'm stupidly indecisive. (I put undecisive, should also say I like to make up my own words?!) 
5. I want to be a wedding planner
6. I also want a B&B by the sea/lake/any kind of water when I'm old and semi-retired. 
7. I want to go to Disney World when I graduate
8. I'm originally an Essex bird. (I hate sparkles and glitter!)
9. I enjoy nights out in Retford far more than I should..      and last but by no means least

Let's get started...

 I should probably start by introducing myself, right? My name is Chloe :) a pure English thoroughbred, much to my own disappointment.  I am a student studying (obviously) Event Management (not so obvious) in the big ol' smoke London. Not sure of how much of this jibba is relevant buuut this is my first blog post, ever! And, I'm not so sure on what or how to start.
